Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a school-based contract position located near New Waverly, Texas. This assignment provides dedicated Homebound services to a 3rd grade Life Skills student, ensuring impactful individualized instruction and essential compensatory support. The role is onsite only and offers an immediate start through the Extended School Year (ESY), with a full-year opportunity running August 12th, 2026 – May 22nd, 2027.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for Texas
• Experience working with elementary school-age students with significant needs, ideally in a Life Skills or Homebound capacity
• Familiarity with individualized instruction, lesson adaptation, and compensatory education services
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with caregivers, administrators, and other service providers
• Organizational ability to maintain records and comply with special education documentation requirements
• Dedication to creating a supportive, adaptive environment for diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 6 hours per week of Homebound services (4 instructional hours and 2 compensatory service hours) beginning the week of August 17th
• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans addressing the IEP goals of a 3rd grade Life Skills student
• Track student progress and document services delivered per district and regulatory guidelines
• Liaise with families and school personnel to coordinate schedules and share updates
• Adjust instructional approaches based on student response and evolving needs
