Volt is immediately hiring an IT Project Manager/Senior Scrum Master in San Diego, CA.
As an IT Project Manager/Scrum Master, you will:
- Ensure team and associate Scrum Masters are activity following the guidelines of Scrum and Agile to achieve business objectives with IT products, efforts and delivery teams
- Help a team/individual/product owners/Scrum Masters clarify goals and actions to achieve them
- Facilitate team to estimate and plan product/solution in a variety of tools with no supervision
- Ensure team is incorporating feedback from customers, end-users, and key stakeholders to increase value for our customers continually
- Shield teams from outside distraction/interference
- Track and remove impediments with little to no assistance
- Mentor other team members and scrum masters in the agile methodology
- Collaborate with Technical and Solution Architects and SMEs to define program and project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Interpret & communicate business requirements to develop a comprehensive product backlog to reduce risk and enhance quality and delivery of prioritized features/capabilities
- Work with the Product Owner to document and make visible the product/solution scope, goals, and deliverables
- Develop estimates, schedules, effort, and cost based on best practices and experience and provide continual improvement guidance
- Develop and manage a comprehensive plan for products/solutions
- Identify capacity related risks, recommend potential mitigation, and escalate appropriately, and remediate
- Create an environment of accountability within the delivery team
- Work closely with functional product, program, and project team members to fully understand and manage program and project inter-dependencies.
- Execute product delivery based on agile methodologies defined by the enterprise
- Become highly proficient at using DevOps/Agile tooling and related tools
- Work with subject matter experts to ensure that teams are consistently delivering the highest value for feature level/product increments
- Prepare, present and review provided features and capabilities regularly with product owners and stakeholders
- Work with internal and external technology suppliers and product owners to ensure an accurate product/solution budget and manage to it
- Manage scope, communicating risks to scope, sprint timeline, budget, and resolve issues
- Identify, escalate, and assist in the resolution of resource constraints, conflicts, and impediments
- Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders to meet project deliverables and benefit case
- Ensure product/solution alignment with enterprise standards and processes
- Create an appropriate support model that addresses the support need of the product/solution
- Update technical and job knowledge by learning from more senior-level scrum masters, self-education, read professional publications and participate in educational opportunities
This is a 12-to-15-month temp assignment, working 100% onsite at the San Diego Facility. Role may require you work between the Kearny Mesa and Downtown San Diego location. May have potential to go temp to hire.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm plus overtime as needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of agile/scrum experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of directly related experience
- Experience working with 3+ teams simultaneously
- Eight plus years of progressively responsible job-related experience
- Excellent knowledge and demonstrated expertise in applying Agile best practices, Scrum ceremonies, and scaled Agile practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a highly collaborative fashion
- Experience in all facets of the software development life cycle (requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, release cycle, support)
- Experience in mentoring Scrum Masters in their community of practice
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) (required)
- Previous experience leading Information Technology programs and projects
- Self-starter, initiative, leadership, excellent judgment, excellent problem solving, excellent communication, and human relations skills
- Mastery of agile software development methodologies
- The ability to facilitate cross-functional teams across the IT organization and related business groups
