Hiring Truck Technicians ASAP!!1st shift$19-21/hrStatesville, NCJob Responsibilities
- Perform drilling and bolt-on type modifications on truck cabs and chassis to support fleet preparation and equipment installation.
- Install and assist with the installation of electronic systems such as telematics, camera systems, ELDs, geo-fencing, lane departure systems, and other related components.
- Route, secure, and clip necessary wiring and lines neatly and safely throughout the vehicle to meet installation and quality standards.
- Carry out light fabrication of brackets and affiliated hardware to support proper routing, clipping, and mounting of equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for mechanical assembly, drilling, fabrication, and installation tasks.
- Assist with general mechanical service tasks on trucks, including basic repairs, adjustments, and component assembly as directed.
- Support production and assembly line activities related to truck modification, including construction, finish work, and inspection tasks.
- Operate basic shop equipment and machinery as needed for drilling, cutting, and assembly work, following all safety procedures.
- Follow detailed instructions and work under supervision to complete tasks accurately and within established timeframes.
- Inspect completed work to ensure modifications, installations, and routing meet quality, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area around the truck line and shop.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and keep trucks moving efficiently through the preparation process.
Essential Skills
- Basic mechanical skills with the ability to perform entry-level mechanical tasks on trucks.
- Mechanical Experience and strong mechanical aptitude, with experience or exposure to automotive service, mechanical assembly, or related work.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including safe operation and proper use for drilling, fabrication, and installation.
- Ability to handle drilling and bolt-on type modifications on vehicle structures and components.
- Ability to route and clip necessary wiring or lines neatly and securely throughout the vehicle.
- Ability to perform light fabrication of bracketry and related hardware to support routing and clipping of wiring and lines.
- Comfort climbing in and out of truck cabs and working in and around large vehicles.
- Capability to follow supervision and specific direction on most tasks while learning and improving skills.
- Ownership of a basic set of tools suitable for mechanical and installation work (Basic Level Tool List).
- Ability to perform general labor tasks in a production or shop environment, including assembly, repair, inspection, and machine operation.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, proper fitment, and high-quality workmanship.
- Basic understanding of construction, carpentry, or finish work principles helpful for fabrication and installation tasks.
