As you rotate between elementary and middle school settings—supporting self-contained Autism programs and collaborating as a co-teacher—you will gain new insights, challenge your skills, and further develop your expertise in special education. Qualifications:

• Active licensure in Special Education (State of Illinois, or eligibility for Illinois certification)
• Prior experience with self-contained or co-teaching special education programs preferred
• Confidence working with diverse learners, including students with Autism and functional communication needs
• Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs, data collection, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• At Hermansen Elementary: Teach in a Structured Teaching and Learning Room (STLR) self-contained program, supporting students with Autism (caseload up to 13)
• At Martinez Middle School: Serve as a co-teacher in a Supported Education model (caseload up to 13)
• Foster engaging, individualized instructional environments
• Collaborate closely with general education staff, service providers, and families
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and documentation requirements
