Two contract opportunities are available, working full-time (37.5 hours per week) with middle school and elementary-age students in specialized educational environments designed to meet a range of needs.

At one site, you’ll work with middle schoolers in a setting 4 program designed for students with developmental cognitive delays. Here, you’ll teach and support children, some of whom use wheelchairs and others who may exhibit mild behavioral challenges. At another location, you’ll work in a setting 3 program, teaching a small caseload (6-9) of elementary students identified with autism spectrum disorder or developmental cognitive disabilities.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license (please include license number with your application).
• Experience or strong interest in working with students with developmental cognitive delays, ASD, and significant needs.
• Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to teaching and classroom management.
• Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support in accordance with each student’s IEP.
• Create an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment that supports student independence and growth.
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to fit diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and communicate regularly with families.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate actively in IEP meetings.
