About the Position
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities in a K–12 school setting. The ideal candidate will develop individualized learning experiences, collaborate with educational teams, and provide instruction aligned with student needs, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and Florida education standards.
Job Duties
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs, goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Provide specially designed instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies and differentiated learning approaches
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to support diverse learners
- Monitor and document student academic, behavioral, and developmental progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Implement positive behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies
- Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Support students in developing academic, social, communication, and independent living skills
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution
- Valid Florida Educator Certificate issued through the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE)
- Appropriate Exceptional Student Education (ESE) certification/endorsement for the assigned student population and disability area
- Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), IEP development, and Florida special education compliance requirements
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred
