About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services within a K–12 school setting. The ideal candidate will collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to identify student needs and develop effective academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.
Job Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and assessments to identify student strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services
- Administer and interpret standardized cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments
- Prepare evaluation reports and communicate assessment findings to educational teams and families
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and families regarding student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Assist with the development and implementation of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and other student support services as appropriate
- Collaborate with special education and general education teams to support student success
- Monitor student progress and make recommendations based on assessment and intervention data
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements
- Support compliance with IDEA and applicable Minnesota special education regulations
Requirements
- Master’s degree or specialist-level degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution
- Valid Minnesota School Psychologist license issued by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)
- Completion of a Minnesota-approved school psychology preparation program or an equivalent program accepted by PELSB
- Completion of required supervised school psychology internship experience
- Successful completion of Minnesota’s required licensure examinations, when applicable
- Knowledge of IDEA, special education evaluation procedures, eligibility determination, and IEP processes
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment results
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
- Previous school-based experience preferred
