Make a meaningful impact supporting students ages 3 to 21 across a dynamic school setting as a full-time Occupational Therapist. This opportunity places you within an assigned zone on the southwest side of the Houston area, ensuring a manageable commute with district office available as your home base. You’ll collaborate with educators, attend ARDs, and provide evaluations and treatment across 6 to 7 schools, all while focusing on improving student outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Occupational Therapy license for Texas
- District-required fingerprint/background check (prior fingerprinting may expedite start)
- Extensive experience in pediatric or school-based OT settings strongly preferred
- Candidates with multiple years of COTA experience in schools or pediatric care will be considered
- Strong communication, organization, and adaptability
- Must not have been previously employed by this district, or terminated from any school district (an affidavit will be required)
- Comfortable using SHARES and Onward software, maintaining IEP documentation
Role Overview:
- Full-time, on-site position (37.5 hours/week), school calendar year (August 2026 – May 2027)
- Serve a diverse caseload with approximately 70 students, primarily consult-based; 30-40 direct service students on a rotating schedule
- Conduct evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and attend ARDs
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation using school software and Excel logs
- Coordinate with the lead OT and independently manage assigned caseload
- Travel within an assigned zone, optimizing your schedule with respect to your home ZIP code
