SummaryWe are seeking a highly specialized, customer-facing Embedded Systems Architect to lead Level 4 system integrations. The primary focus of this role is to act as the technical subject matter expert during customer engagements, architecting open standards-based computing systems while partnering closely with sales to overcome technical objections. The ideal candidate is a seasoned hardware engineering professional with a strong "sales approach" who thrives in translating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders to win and secure business.
ResponsibilitiesArchitect and define open standards-based computing systems, specifically focusing on Level 4 integrations, to meet rigorous and highly specialized customer requirements.
Act as the primary technical subject matter expert in a fast-paced sales environment, accurately guiding clients through the capabilities and applications of ruggedized embedded hardware.
Partner directly with the sales organization to build strong client relationships, proactively overcome technical objections, and drive enterprise revenue generation.
Translate complex engineering nuances and product specifications into clear, concise, and efficient technical solutions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with elite internal hardware engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are viable and aligned with mission-critical defense standards.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, accompanied by a proven, established background in physical hardware engineering (pure software engineering backgrounds will not be a fit for this environment).
Technical Skills: Deep, hands-on hardware engineering expertise with a strong working knowledge of Level 4 system integrations and ruggedized computing.
Industry Expertise: Extensive experience utilizing open standards-based computing architecture; hands-on experience with VPX (highly preferred), VME, or SOSA is required. Experience with CompactPCI is a strong plus.
Soft Skills: Exceptional customer-facing communication skills with a polished, consultative "sales approach." Must be comfortable and effective at explaining highly technical concepts to non-technical decision-makers.
Compliance Requirements: Due to the nature of the work and strict government NDAs, candidates must meet ITAR compliance requirements.
Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 20% for crucial customer site visits, high-level technical meetings, and an annual 3-day strategic sales summit (typically held in Fremont, CA).
