Summary/Objective
Serve as the staff specialist in safety by developing and carrying out procedures with the line organization that effectively controls accident and health exposures in the company and minimize OSHA citations.
Essential Functions
1. Assist, plan and implement policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
2. Maintain regulatory record keeping including OSHA 300 Log, safety training records, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and team action plans.
3. Work with all levels of staff to ensure the health and safety program and policies are understood and upheld as a priority and value.
4. Train all employees, supervisors and management in proper use of PPE; also safety & health, accident prevention and investigation training.
5. Assist line management by spending appropriate time on production floor to observe workforce for safe behaviors and immediately correct any deficiencies.
6. Timely report all work-related injuries or illnesses to Company’s worker’s compensation insurance administrator and provide follow-up information as necessary.
7. Work closely with local medical provider(s) to coordinate emergency services and follow-up care for injured or ill employees.
8. Conducts employee certifications and renewals.

5. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma and at least 3 years related experience.
2. Experience with or knowledge of OSHA.
Work Environment
1. Generally 8 hour days, 5 days a week, combination of indoors in a controlled environment/plant floor in a non-controlled environment.
2. Manufacturing plant environment with extreme fluctuation in temperature.
3. Dusty and noisy environment.
