Step into a rewarding opportunity as an Occupational Therapist working in a dynamic school setting near Costa Mesa, CA. This contract role supports students from PreK through age 22, providing essential services that help them thrive academically and independently. You’ll be assigned multiple campuses, primarily itinerant: one therapist will focus on the San Clemente area, while the other will cover the Mission Viejo area. Full-time positions are available with flexibility for part-time schedules if needed.
Responsibilities include evaluating and providing therapy to students with varying needs, collaborating with educators and families, and participating in IEP meetings. You’ll be integral in empowering students to achieve their fullest potential in the classroom and beyond.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active California state OT license required
- Demonstrated school-based occupational therapy experience (not accepting COTAs)
- Strong knowledge of pediatric and adolescent interventions
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-changing environment
- Skilled communicator with students, staff, and parents
- Comfort adapting to frequent changes (e.g., related to school board decisions)
- Enthusiasm for working on-site across various school locations
- Willingness to start as soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students ages PreK-22
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams on student educational goals
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of progress and services
- Participate in meetings, including IEP development and reviews
- Adapt interventions to meet unique student needs
