Job Description
This role focuses on installing, commissioning, and maintaining conveyor systems and related cabling at customer sites across the United States. You will work hands-on with industrial cable management, mechanical and electrical components, and conveyor equipment, ensuring all installations are completed safely, on time, and to client specifications. The position requires extensive travel and the ability to work in fast-paced industrial environments while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain conveyor systems and associated cabling at customer facilities.
- Perform industrial cable management, including routing, securing, and organizing cables and service loops according to best practices.
- Read and interpret proposals, blueprints, specifications, schematics, and procedure manuals to complete installations accurately.
- Use multi hand and power tools associated with conveyor installation, including tools for conduit bending and mechanical assembly.
- Work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components as part of conveyor installations and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on conveyor systems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Support conveyor maintenance and service activities, ensuring systems operate reliably and safely.
- Assist with construction-related tasks associated with conveyor installation projects as needed.
- Operate equipment such as ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts in accordance with OSHA safety standards and site-specific requirements.
- Follow all site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) requirements and company safety procedures, with a strong focus on working safely around moving mechanical parts.
- Travel to customer sites 90–100% of the time, remaining on the road for 30–90 days at a time based on installation and service schedules.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers to provide updates, clarify requirements, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Complete routine reports and correspondence related to installation progress, service activities, and project status.
- Use basic computer skills to navigate timecards, complete expense reports, and book travel arrangements.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops to document work, access technical information, and communicate with project stakeholders.
- Handle and work around materials that have Safety Data Sheets (SDS), following all safety instructions and guidelines.
- Ensure all on-site installations are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated experience with conveyor installation, commissioning, and maintenance in industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of cable management and industrial cable management, including proper cable routing, securing, and service loops.
- Hands-on experience with conveyor systems, conveyor service, conveyor maintenance, and conveyor installations.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanical and industrial systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, proposals, specifications, schematics, and procedure manuals.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills, including navigating timecards, expense reports, and travel booking tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to use mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops for work-related tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and Real ID or valid passport.
- Willingness and ability to travel 90–100% of the time and remain on the road for 30–90 days at a time.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift at least 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to use multi hand and power tools associated with conveyor installation.
- Ability to climb ladders and safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.
- Fluency in reading and writing English.
