Job Title: Diesel Mechanic/Maintenance Technician in McKeesport, PA

Job Description

This position requires mechanics to manage dual responsibilities due to the facility's blend of heavy transit with automated industrial coating machinery. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and servicing diesel/gasoline engines and other systems on various vehicles and maintaining industrial plant equipment to prevent manufacturing downtime.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and service diesel/gasoline engines, brake systems, and hydraulic setups on trucks, forklifts, and yard vehicles.
• Troubleshoot facility assembly systems, conveyors, pumps, and pneumatic lines to eliminate manufacturing downtime.
• Perform necessary component modifications and structural repairs using various welding techniques.
• Conduct standard oil changes, filter swaps, and part requisitioning, while managing accurate maintenance logs.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex diesel and gasoline vehicles or heavy industrial equipment, with around 5 years preferred.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, especially in environments like steel fabrication or pipe mills, is highly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel/gasoline engines, vehicle electrical systems, complex hydraulics, and air brake mechanisms.
• Proficiency in maintaining and fixing non-automotive facility systems, including conveyors, pneumatic lines, pumps, and automated piping/coating systems.
• Practical experience in industrial structural welding, cutting, and component modification using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow industrial schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical repair manuals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, steel fabrication, pipe mill, or millwright environment is highly preferred.

The pay range for this position is $60320.00 - $60320.00/yr.
