Step into a vital role as a contract Secondary English Language Arts teacher guiding students in a supportive, engaging ELA classroom environment. The position runs from mid-August through late May and is conveniently located onsite near Wetumpka, AL. You'll have an impact on students’ academic development while collaborating with colleagues in a positive atmosphere.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certification in English (secondary level)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with proper endorsement
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Ability to build rapport with diverse student populations
- Familiarity with integrating technology into lessons to promote 21st-century learning skills
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a classroom setting that encourages learning and supports personal growth
- Develop engaging lesson plans to foster essential ELA skills, attitudes, and knowledge
- Motivate and challenge students to reach their highest potential
- Incorporate educational technology to enrich lessons and student engagement
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, families, peers, volunteers, and school visitors
- Adapt and perform additional duties as assigned by the school principal
