SUMMARYWe are seeking a detail-oriented
Biorepository Sample Management Technician to support the receipt, processing, storage, and inventory management of biological specimens and raw materials in a regulated laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry and a strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations, specimen handling, and laboratory documentation. This role is critical to ensuring sample integrity, traceability, and compliance throughout the sample lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Receive, accession, process, label, and store biological specimens and raw materials according to established SOPs.
- Maintain accurate sample inventory using laboratory inventory management systems (LIMS or equivalent), ensuring complete traceability and chain of custody.
- Perform specimen processing activities, including aliquoting, labeling, packaging, and preparation for long-term storage or shipment.
- Manage sample storage in refrigerated, frozen, and ultra-low temperature environments while maintaining sample integrity.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of laboratory supplies and consumables.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with GLP, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all labeling is accurate, compliant, and supports sample traceability.
- Conduct routine inventory reconciliations, audits, and discrepancy investigations.
- Prepare samples for internal distribution and external shipment following applicable shipping and handling procedures.
- Assist with equipment monitoring, maintenance, and temperature documentation for storage units.
- Support quality initiatives, inspections, and audits by maintaining organized records and compliant laboratory practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Laboratory Operations, and Research personnel.
QUALIFICATIONSRequired- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related experience .
- 2–3 years of experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, clinical laboratory, or biorepository environment.
- Experience handling biological specimens, clinical samples, and/or raw materials.
- Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations and laboratory documentation requirements.
- Experience with specimen processing, labeling, inventory management, and chain-of-custody procedures.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or electronic inventory tracking systems.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining data accuracy and compliance.
Preferred- Experience working in GMP or GCP regulated environments.
- Knowledge of biological sample storage requirements, including cryogenic and ultra-low temperature storage.
- Experience supporting laboratory audits or regulatory inspections.
- Familiarity with barcode labeling systems and electronic sample tracking.
- Experience shipping biological specimens in compliance with applicable regulations.
