About the Position
We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Teacher to provide engaging classroom instruction in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will create meaningful learning experiences, foster curiosity, and help students develop critical thinking skills through standards-based science instruction, hands-on activities, and real-world applications.
Job Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with Louisiana state standards and curriculum requirements
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Plan and implement instructional activities that promote student engagement and academic growth
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student understanding through assignments, projects, exams, laboratory activities, and classroom discussions
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and required documentation
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support student success
- Incorporate technology, laboratory experiences, and real-world applications into instruction when appropriate
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and productive learning environment
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related science field from an accredited institution
- Valid Louisiana teaching certificate issued through the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE)
- Appropriate Science certification/endorsement for the assigned grade level(s)
- Ability to effectively teach science curriculum and meet Louisiana academic standards
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies and differentiated instructional practices
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
- Previous classroom teaching experience preferred
