Job Description
The Maintenance role is a hands-on position responsible for daily machine and facilities maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, support production by resolving equipment problems, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives within cross-functional teams to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on production machinery, building systems, and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control system issues to minimize downtime and support ongoing production activities.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
- Resolve production issues by repairing or replacing nonconforming components and performing equipment modifications when needed.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new production equipment.
- Support and perform facility repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility improvement projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement and reliability enhancements.
- Adhere to strict safety policies and practices and immediately report any unsafe conditions or concerns to the appropriate safety contacts or supervisors.
- Ensure proper safety practices are in place, consistently followed, and actively enforced in all maintenance activities.
- Promote, improve, and enforce 6S and safety objectives throughout the work area.
- Coordinate and work effectively with external service providers and contractors as needed for maintenance and facility projects.
Essential Skills
- Proven hands-on experience in maintenance engineering or maintenance technician roles in a production or industrial environment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with industrial equipment and control systems.
- Mechanical maintenance experience, including working with hydraulics and related mechanical systems.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and HMI interfaces to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on a wide range of production and facility equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated commitment to strict safety policies, safe work practices, and reporting of unsafe conditions.
- Experience supporting both machine maintenance and facilities or building maintenance activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience participating in or supporting 6S or similar workplace organization and continuous improvement programs.
- Experience working with external vendors, contractors, or service providers for equipment and facility maintenance.
- Experience in facilities maintenance and building maintenance, including facility repairs and improvements.
- Comfort working in cross-functional teams to support production, engineering, and facilities initiatives.

Work Environment
This role operates in a production and facilities environment with regular interaction with industrial machinery, building systems, and maintenance tools and equipment. Work involves hands-on troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on the shop floor and within the facility. The position requires consistent adherence to safety protocols and 6S standards to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace. Hours may align with production needs and could include work during active manufacturing operations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blanchester, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
