We are looking for an experienced Estimator III to join a metal fabrication team in St. Augustine, Florida. This position focuses on developing accurate pricing for custom and non-standard products by reviewing incoming requests, clarifying scope, and translating technical details into competitive quotations. The ideal candidate brings strong estimating judgment, construction-related knowledge, and the ability to work closely with sales partners and customers to deliver timely, well-supported proposals.
Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed cost estimates and quotations for custom fabricated products while meeting established turnaround expectations.
• Evaluate bid documents, drawings, specifications, and supporting materials to determine project scope, pricing inputs, and production considerations.
• Coordinate with sales representatives and customers to gather missing information, resolve ambiguities, and confirm quote requirements before finalizing pricing.
• Issue completed quotations to customers or internal sales contacts as needed, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in all deliverables.
• Provide guidance on technical details, pricing approach, and estimating methods to team members, sales personnel, and customers when questions arise.
• Use estimating tools and software, including Bluebeam and Microsoft applications, to review documents, organize data, and prepare quote packages efficiently.
• Support cross-functional collaboration by communicating clearly with manufacturing and office personnel when estimate inputs require operational insight.
• Work in both office and production-floor settings to validate assumptions and better align estimates with fabrication realities.• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of related experience and training that demonstrates equivalent capability.
• At least 5 years of estimating experience, with practical knowledge of construction-related pricing and processes.
• Background in metal fabrication or manufacturing environments preferred.
• Proficiency with estimating practices, cost analysis, and quote preparation for custom or non-standard work.
• Experience reviewing drawings and technical documents using software such as Bluebeam Revu.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft business applications for documentation, analysis, and communication.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and explain pricing.
• Capacity to work in a typical office environment with occasional time on the manufacturing floor, including lifting up to 20 pounds and extended periods of sitting or standing.
