Job Title: Sales Account Manager – Automotive Manufacturing
Job Description
This role focuses on developing and managing key customer relationships within the automotive manufacturing industry. The Sales Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, drives new and existing business growth, leads commercial activities, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and long-term account success.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with assigned customer accounts in the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for all commercial, product, and program-related matters.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities while supporting and expanding existing accounts.
- Manage quotes, pricing activities, contracts, and commercial negotiations to support profitable growth.
- Coordinate customer requirements across internal departments to ensure timely execution and high-quality support.
- Attend customer meetings, business reviews, and industry events as needed to represent the organization and support account development.
- Monitor customer portals and manage submissions related to quotations, project updates, and commercial documentation.
- Support strategic account planning, growth initiatives, and broader business development activities.
- Analyze market trends, customer roadmaps, and profitability metrics to identify opportunities for expansion and improvement.
- Prepare sales forecasts, account reviews, business reports, and performance updates for leadership.
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, finance, and program teams to align with customer objectives and deliver on commitments.
- Review sales performance and profitability data and make recommendations to improve margins and operational effectiveness.
- Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, customer experience, and overall business performance.
- Support annual sales objectives and departmental goals through proactive customer engagement and strategic planning.
- Manage multiple projects and customer priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of account management, business development, or sales experience within the automotive industry.
- Experience supporting OEM and Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive customers.
- Background in preparing customer quotations, pricing proposals, and commercial agreements.
- Proven experience in automotive account management and customer relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and customer priorities simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience working with CRM or business management systems.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently.
- Experience in sales support, order processing, and administrative support within a commercial environment.
- Experience in commercial negotiations, pricing and quoting, program management, and profitability analysis.
- Ability to develop and execute sales strategies and growth plans for automotive accounts

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
