Step into a rewarding opportunity for the 2026-2027 academic year as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students who benefit from self-contained classroom environments. This contract position involves working with diverse student populations exhibiting mild to severe disabilities and behavioral needs. Multiple roles are open, including two positions in Elementary ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms, one at the Middle School/High School level for ASD, and one focused on students with Cognitive Impairments.

You’ll engage with children and adolescents in structured settings designed to foster growth, independence, and success in daily activities and learning. Classrooms are self-contained, emphasizing significant support for each student’s unique challenges. There is currently no additional classroom supervision support from paraprofessionals, RBTs, CNAs, or LPNs, so strong classroom management skills and adaptability are key.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching License (substitute certifications are NOT accepted)
• For High School Autism roles: Bachelor’s degree with an endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorder or another area of special education, plus willingness to enroll in additional coursework toward endorsement if necessary
• Emotional Impairments certification or Autism endorsement required
• Prior experience supporting students with mild to severe behavioral challenges is highly preferred
• Self-motivated, compassionate, and able to independently guide a classroom
• Open to participating in in-person or virtual interviews
