We are looking for a Material Planner to join a manufacturing team in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will help balance production needs, material availability, and customer commitments by building effective plans across purchasing, inventory, and supply flow. The position requires close coordination with operations, suppliers, and cross-functional partners to keep manufacturing running efficiently and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
• Build and manage production schedules that make effective use of capacity while supporting order timing, lot sizing, and customer delivery expectations.
• Run material planning activities for raw inputs, work-in-process items, finished products, and recertification needs while maintaining full batch traceability.
• Create, release, and follow up on purchase orders in partnership with internal teams and external vendors to secure timely material supply.
• Coordinate inbound international shipments and warehouse deliveries to ensure materials arrive when needed for production.
• Replenish consumables and production-support items required to sustain daily manufacturing operations.
• Track stock positions, maintain planning parameters, and adjust minimum and maximum inventory levels to reflect business needs.
• Review inventory trends and identify opportunities to lower excess, reduce aging stock, and prevent obsolete or expired materials.
• Work with Sales, Customer Service, Shipping, Quality, and global planning partners to align priorities, support on-time delivery, and improve supply chain performance.• Experience using SAP in a planning, materials, or supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of supply chain logistics, including purchasing coordination, inventory control, and material flow management.
• Ability to develop production and replenishment plans in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with purchasing planning and supplier follow-up to support uninterrupted operations.
• Understanding of import and export processes related to inbound material movement.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor KPIs, investigate variances, and support corrective action.
• Effective communication skills for working across operations, customer-facing teams, suppliers, and quality functions.
