Travel Pharmacist Opportunity – Arizona, 13-Week Assignment
A unique travel pharmacist role is available in Arizona, offering the chance to gain valuable Indian Health Service (IHS) experience within a culturally rich healthcare setting. This position provides comprehensive pharmacy and medication management services across a main campus and satellite clinics. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with a 7-on/7-off rotation, working Wednesdays through Tuesdays. Scheduled hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM and weekends from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, oncology, and obstetric populations.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services for inpatient and outpatient departments, including specialized pharmacy-based clinics.
- Serve in leadership roles such as Clinic Manager of Operations, providing technical and administrative supervision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure clinical excellence and adherence to organizational policies.
- Participate in rotational shifts including day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday coverage.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school.
- Current, unrestricted pharmacist license valid in any U.S. state or territory (Arizona license NOT required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Pharmacist and at least 1 year as a Clinical Pharmacist.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural community and adapt to travel assignments.
Housing:Local housing is available on the reservation; alternatively, accommodations near Flagstaff (approximately one hour away) may be arranged. Housing stipend up to $600 per month may be provided if available.
