Job Summary

Albertsons is seeking a QA Laboratory Technician I to support quality control operations at its Commerce Milk Plant. The technician will perform laboratory testing, maintain quality records, monitor product specifications, and support food safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect samples and perform microbiological, chemical, physical, and organoleptic testing.
• Plate, read, record, and track laboratory test results.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate daily QC records.
• Follow SOPs and QC Hold procedures for out-of-specification products.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
• Monitor test-result trends and communicate quality issues and corrective actions.
• Support plant sanitation, safety, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.
• Meet daily with supervisors regarding production and quality issues.
• Perform other laboratory and quality-control duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or a related science; OR 2+ years of relevant QC/laboratory experience.
• Experience with microbiological, chemical, physical, or organoleptic testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow SOPs and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer programs and data entry.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain lab testing equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in cold and loud manufacturing environments.
• Must be eligible to work for an indefinite duration without employment limitations.
