We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead the safe and efficient construction of landfill cells, cap systems, and supporting infrastructure. You will be the primary on-site leader responsible for transforming engineering designs into operational disposal facilities while maintaining strict environmental and safety compliance. Traveling will be required.
Responsibilities:
- · Cell Construction & Grading: Oversee mass excavation, subgrade preparation, and the installation of complex liner systems.
- · Landfill Cap Construction: Oversee the construction of cap and the installation of liner system
- · Infrastructure Management: Direct the installation of leachate collection systems, storm water controls, and methane gas extraction networks.
- · Compliance & Safety: Enforce OSHA and MSHA standards and ensure all work adheres to federal, state, and local environmental permits.
- · Crew & Subcontractor Leadership: Sequence daily tasks for heavy equipment operators, pipe-layers, and specialized contractors to meet production goals.
- · Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure workmanship conforms to technical specifications and liners meet integrity standards.
- · Reporting: Maintain accurate daily logs of labor, equipment usage, and environmental monitoring data.
Qualifications:
- · Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in large-scale earthwork or heavy civil construction, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
- · Education: High School Diploma required
- · Technical Skills: Expert ability to read and interpret complex civil engineering blueprints and survey markers.
- · Certifications:
- Pipe Fusion Certified, or willing to obtain
- 30-Hour OSHA and/ MSHA certification.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class A or B CDL is a plus).
