Real Estate Legal Assistant
An established and highly respected law firm in downtown Minneapolis is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join its Real Estate practice group. What You'll Do
- Provide administrative and legal support to a team of real estate attorneys and paralegals
- Draft and revise organizational and transactional documents
- Create, update, and maintain real estate closing checklists
- Coordinate and assist with commercial real estate closings
- Prepare and organize closing books and post-closing documents
- Send, receive, and track signature pages and original documents
- Calendar critical transaction and closing deadlines
- Maintain electronic client files and organizational records
- Monitor attorney inboxes and electronically file client documents
- Open new client matters and maintain case files
- Process client invoices and attorney expense reimbursements
- Perform document comparisons and proofreading
- Form business entities and obtain filings from the Secretary of State and IRS
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys and clients throughout transactions
- Assist with additional projects as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Interest in real estate law or the commercial real estate industry
- Administrative support experience
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organization and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong proofreading and grammar skills
- Professional demeanor with excellent client service skills
Preferred
- Experience as a legal assistant or administrative assistant in a legal environment
- Experience supporting real estate or corporate attorneys
- Familiarity with iManage, InTapp, and iTimekeep

Compensation
Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
Expected salary range: $48,000 to $91,000 annually
