GENERAL SUMMARY
As a non-supervisory position, the Team Leader is responsible for the coordination of work activities and work flow of assigned individuals and ensuring that productivity, work processes, quality and safety are maintained according to company standards in their assigned area.
COMPANY STANDARDS
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality in order to perform tasks related to daily production demands. This position performs all hours onsite and at all assigned physical locations of operations.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations; wears and/or uses required protective equipment while working; immediately reports any safety concerns or unsafe working conditions to Operations Management.
- Conducts all aspects of job responsibilities in compliance with the JM Murray mission statement, policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversees assigned area, maintaining production and manufacturing data, as assigned.
- Builds processes for individual jobs; performs and documents time studies.
- Examines work to verify adherence to quality specifications/standards.
- Instructs/monitors workers regarding proper job procedures and adherence to safety regulations, using appropriate tools including method sheets, coaching and working according to assigned jobs and tasks.
- Operates manufacturing machines and equipment including, but not limited to, automated manufacturing machines, injection mold machines, liquid fill machines, blister packing machines, shrink wrappers, digital scales, pallet jacks, etc.
- Follows individual workers’ vocational rehabilitation plans. Communicates with Vocational Rehabilitation staff, as needed, on worker needs.
- Coordinates, implements, and provides feedback on productivity of assigned workers utilizing schedules and/or work assignments as delegated by management.
- Provides feedback, verbal or written, on workers’ progress, behaviors, etc. to Vocational Rehabilitation staff.
- When assigned, performs material handling functions in work areas including but not limited to moving raw materials to production areas, transferring finished goods as needed, etc.
- Maintains equipment within area, and maintains a clutter free area.
- Participates in and completes all assigned training and attends all required meetings.
- Represents JM Murray and the JM Murray mission in a positive manner, treating people with dignity and respect.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
1 yr. experience with manufacturing and/or a production environment preferred
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
Basic reading and comprehension skills, and the ability to follow written instructions are required
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Basic computer skills for data entry and utilizing reports
Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills required
Basic Troubleshooting Skills
Knowledge of production planning and inventory control
Familiarity with safety (OSHA) regulations and quality control
Familiarity with techniques in identifying, evaluating and resolving conflict
