Part‐Time Custodial Worker – Job Description

Position Summary

The Part‐Time Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned buildings and facilities. This role performs routine cleaning daily. Work is performed independently or as part of a team, following established schedules and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, hallways, offices, and common areas
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and high‐touch surfaces
  • Empty trash and recycling containers; replace liners and stage waste for pickup
  • Restock the restroom and cleaning supplies as needed
  • Perform spot‐cleaning of spills, smudges, and debris throughout the shift
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and report malfunctioning tools
  • Secure assigned areas and ensure rooms are left in orderly condition
  • Identify and report maintenance issues (leaks, broken fixtures, safety hazards)
