JOB SUMMARY
The Value Creation Program (VCP) Finance Coordinator will support the B1 Direct Material Cost (DMC) workstream, with a primary focus on reducing direct material costs for current-production vehicles and parts. This position will work as part of a highly collaborative four-person team consisting of a Buyer, Engineer, Cost Engineer, and Finance Coordinator.
The Finance Coordinator will validate savings opportunities, develop and defend financial business cases, support supplier negotiations, and ensure savings initiatives meet established governance and documentation requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance or cost analyst to gain exposure to purchasing finance, vehicle cost engineering, value optimization, and senior finance and operations leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Validate commercial and technical savings ideas through detailed financial business cases.
- Develop, analyze, and defend financial business cases supporting cost-reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Buyer, Engineer, Cost Engineer, and other cross-functional partners to identify and size potential savings opportunities.
- Analyze complex financial and operational data across multiple systems to identify opportunities and validate assumptions.
- Build supplier fact packs and support negotiation strategies designed to drive direct material cost savings.
- Provide financial support and backup for supplier negotiations, including analysis and preparation of negotiation materials.
- Ensure savings initiatives comply with governance requirements, documentation standards, and required approvals.
- Monitor progress against internal VCP targets and communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
- Maintain accurate financial data and ensure appropriate documentation of savings initiatives.
- Support analysis involving supplier quotes, should-cost information, purchasing data, and other cost inputs.
- Evaluate Make/Buy opportunities, inbound transportation costs, transformation costs, and other cost drivers.
- Analyze the impact of take rates and vehicle volume/mix on Annual Purchase Value.
- Support purchasing financial reporting, including flow-through, carryover, and incremental impacts.
- Participate in cross-functional problem solving and develop creative approaches to complex cost-reduction opportunities.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing Finance, Product Finance, Vehicle Cost Engineering, Plant Cost Analysis, or a comparable analytical role.
- Proven ability to develop, validate, and defend financial business cases.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data across multiple systems.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy, governance, and process discipline.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, matrixed team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
