Civil Site Loader Operator

We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Loader Operator (2 need 2) to join our Heavy Civil Construction team. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of wheel loader experience on civil construction projects and is comfortable working around underground utilities, excavations, grading operations, and active construction crews.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate wheel loaders to move dirt, aggregate, pipe bedding, asphalt millings, demolition debris, and other materials.
• Load and distribute material in haul trucks and stockpile areas.
• Support underground utility, grading, road construction, and site development crews.
• Load trench spoils and assist with trench backfill and grading as directed.
• Feed crushers, screeners, pugmills, or batch plants when needed.
• Read grade stakes and understand basic site layout and elevations.
• Work safely around excavations, utilities, excavators, dozers, and other heavy equipment.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, greasing, and basic operator maintenance.
• Report mechanical or safety issues immediately.
• Maintain production while prioritizing jobsite safety and utility protection.
• Assist labor crews when equipment is not in operation.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of wheel loader experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience working around underground utilities and open excavations.
• Solid understanding of grading, trenching, and site development operations.
• Knowledge of trench and construction safety practices.
• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification. (We can assist if you do not have).
• GPS grade control experience.
• Experience with Topcon or Trimble systems.
• NCCCO earthmoving equipment certification, if applicable.
• CDL is a plus.

Equipment Experience

Experience operating CAT 926–980, John Deere, Komatsu WA Series, Volvo L Series, Case, or Hyundai loaders is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Climb on and off heavy equipment multiple times per day.
• Sit for extended periods.
• Work outdoors year-round.
• Good depth perception, coordination, and situational awareness.
