Samaria Behavioral Health Center is growing, and we are looking for compassionate, motivated LPC/LCSW clinicians to join our outpatient behavioral health team in Tempe, Arizona.

This is a flexible 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity for a licensed therapist who wants to build or expand their caseload with the support of an established behavioral health practice. We are currently looking for 2 days a week with the potential to grow. We provide referrals, billing support, credentialing assistance, EHR access, administrative support, and a collaborative clinical environment so you can focus on providing quality care.

This position is ideal for a therapist who enjoys working independently, values flexibility, and wants to serve adults and/or adolescents with mental health and substance use concerns.

Position Overview

The LPC/LCSW will provide direct clinical services to clients with a wide range of mental health and/or substance use diagnoses. Services may include individual psychotherapy, family counseling, group therapy, biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and participation in collaborative treatment discussions.

This role offers clinical independence while still being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatric providers, case managers, behavioral health staff, and administrative personnel.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, you will:

• Provide individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and/or family counseling.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments, intake evaluations, diagnostic impressions, and clinical formulations.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans based on client needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR, including progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and discharge summaries.
• Treat concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, grief/loss, substance use, relapse prevention, emotional dysregulation, and relationship stressors.
• Facilitate structured psychoeducation or therapy groups on topics such as coping skills, relapse prevention, anger management, emotional regulation, mindfulness, self-esteem, communication skills, and healthy relationships.
• Support clients during crisis situations, including safety planning and coordination of higher levels of care when clinically appropriate.
• Collaborate with psychiatric providers and other team members as needed for continuity of care.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, clinical documentation standards, and all applicable state and federal regulations.

• Trauma-informed care
• CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, EMDR, or other evidence-based approaches
• Dual-diagnosis/co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
• Adolescents and/or adults
• Group therapy or intensive outpatient programming
• Crisis assessment and safety planning
• Culturally responsive and inclusive care
• Working independently while maintaining timely documentation and communication
