Responsibilities
This role requires strong ownership of end-to-end database solutions including design, development, deployment, and production support in a regulated and audit-compliant environment.
As a Senior SQL Developer, this person will perform the following tasks, but not limited to:
o Lead application development and production support for multiple large-scale enterprise systems
o Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of production issues and implement permanent fixes to improve system stability
o Troubleshoot Mid-tier MS SQL Server online and batch processing issues, ensuring SLA adherence
o Evaluate and optimize daily and monthly batch processes to improve performance and reduce critical path execution time
o Design, develop, and implement database solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
o Perform impact analysis across multiple platforms and applications, ensuring downstream dependencies are understood
o Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and control mechanisms are in place for all critical data processes
o Deliver complete and audit-compliant documentation for estimates, design, development, and testing artifacts
o Automate monitoring, alerting, and operational processes to improve system reliability
o Participate in on-call production support during off-office hours (night and weekend) and handle incidents based on defined SLAs
o Follow and enforce change management, release, and SOX/audit compliance processes
What Will This Person Be Working On
o Codes, designs, and performs unit, integration, and performance testing to ensure scalable and efficient execution aligned with business and technical requirements
o Codes, tests, and debugs new software or makes enhancements to existing software
o Develops and reviews programs and database objects based on business requirements and technical design specifications
o Develops technical documentation
o Resolves in a timely manner problems that arise with existing production applications to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components
o Designs and implements scalable database structures, including data models (OLTP and dimensional models)
o Collaborates with technical staff to learn and understand software problems
o Generates a variety of complex and periodic reports and/or data through database management, data administration and data extraction techniques
o Provides general system users and management with system analysis and feedback
o Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements
o Performs advanced SQL performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis
o Mentors and coaches less experienced staff
o Maximizes the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing and auditing new software programs
o Conducts code reviews and enforces development standards and best practices across the team
o Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with in‐house personnel to diagnose and fix operational difficulty, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions
o Follows established configuration/change control processes
o Collaborates with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated deployment processes
o Ensures all development activities comply with audit, security, and regulatory requirements
Wants
o Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies, including T-SQL, SSIS, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and indexing strategies
o Experience in Automotive Finance industry preferred
o Strong understanding of auto finance lifecycle (loan origination, servicing, collections, accounting, end-of-term processing, and regulatory processes)
o Familiarity with test practices and deliverables for unit testing
o Self-starter
