ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Oberto team has an opening for the critical position of Packager 2, Line Support for 3rd shift. Packager 2, Line Support is responsible for providing materials and supplies as a support function of the packaging lines. This ensures a smooth supply flow to finished product areas and achievement in meeting production schedules.
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 11:00pm – 7:30am, with occasional overtime when needed.
WAGE: Hourly rate for this position is $18.50 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour for shift differential.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide packaging supply lines with packaging materials and work in process.
- Complete all system transactions including transferring materials into and out of packaging work centers, clearing work centers at end of run and end of week, and investigating discrepancies.
- Monitor supplies of finished products and communicate with leadership.
- Pull finished goods from lines and shrink wrap/label to prepare for distribution.
- Un-box and stage necessary supplies and/or product.
- Empty cardboard and garbage from the packaging room.
- Keep lines stocked with wash supplies, including but not limited to gloves, towels, hand sanitizer, and soap.
- Change the footbaths.
- Open product and load into devices to be unloaded into packaging machinery.
- Assist with printing labels for the machine operators.
- Record quality and production data.
- Encourage safety by insisting on safe behaviors, clean organized working environment, and by following good GMP practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school education or equivalent (minimum)
- Experience in packaging processes, including related system input requirements (1 + years preferred, food manufacturing industry experience preferred).
- Experience with packaging equipment such as tape and labeling machines (preferred).
- Must have or adequately develop working knowledge of Food Safety and Regulatory business standards, practices, policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP’s, OSHA and Labor Laws.
- Familiarity with HACCP (OJT).
- SQF preferred.
- Other Food Safety, Quality, Technical, and Regulatory Training as needs determine appropriate.
