Job Title: GIS Analyst Support Specialist

Duration: Base period (September 2026 to May 2027) plus 4 Option Years

Job Overview: As a GIS Analyst Support Specialist, you will lead the coordination and management of high-quality geospatial data for the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron (50 CES). You will be responsible for maintaining current and historic infrastructure records to support the planning, design, and management of base facilities and engineering projects.

Core Responsibilities

• Database Management: Develop and maintain essential CADD/GIS databases (including utilities, floor plans, and real property) and provide technical advice on solving GIS-related problems.
• Cartography & Mapping: Investigate source materials and aerial photography to create, digitize, and revise installation maps and cartographic products.
• Geospatial Analysis: Use computerized systems to analyze spatial data related to land use, transportation, and demographics to support the Air Force Base Comprehensive Plan.
• Technical Support: Perform quality control checks on geospatial data to ensure standards compliance and provide instruction to base users on new GIS tools and procedures.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Must possess either an associate’s degree in science OR at least 2 years of experience in a technical field involving geospatial analysis and mapping.
• Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of geospatial theories, cartography, remote sensing, and scientific data visualization.
• Standards Proficiency: Expert knowledge of digital geospatial processes and data standards, including Spatial Data Transfer Standard (SDS) and Federal Geographic Data Committee standards.
• System Implementation: Proven skill in implementing mapping systems for critical installation organizations, such as the Fire Department, Security Forces, and Emergency Preparedness.

Security & Compliance

• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI) for unescorted entry to restricted base areas.
• Must have legal United States residency and work authorization status
