System Support Supervisor
Reports To: IT Manager / Regional Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Purpose
Assist the IT Manager in a fast-paced distribution center environment by configuring and maintaining system and network infrastructures. Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support as needed and assist with or lead IT-related projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based workstations, handheld devices, and servers.
- Provide support for Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs).
- Configure and monitor network infrastructure, equipment, and devices.
- Set up and maintain user accounts within an enterprise environment.
- Set up and implement RF and wireless devices.
- Set up and troubleshoot various printer technologies.
- Set up and maintain desk phones and mobile phones.
- Perform and oversee software installations and upgrades.
- Maintain software licenses for departments and the facility.
- Troubleshoot network, system, and application issues to minimize operational interruptions.
- Develop training materials, SOPs, run books, and instructional documentation.
- Communicate technical issues, solutions, and preventive measures with operations and leadership.
- Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and manufacturer standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information processed, stored, or accessed by the network.
- Document network issues and resolutions for future reference.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with network technologies, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Minimum of 4 years of IT experience with working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Linux is a plus.
- Warehouse and warehouse IT experience is preferred.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics technology is preferred.
- Experience with AGV systems is a plus.
Work Environment
- Distribution center environment with varying temperatures and heights.
- Ability to work safely around forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, clamps, and scissor lifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
Business Continuity
- Knowledge of SQL and virtual server (VM) setup.
- Prepare the distribution center for system failover and work with operations to minimize downtime.
- Document failover procedures and ensure they are followed accurately.
- Create daily store orders through the portal.
- Participate in bi-yearly training and testing in the sandbox environment.
- Maintain composure in high-pressure situations and respond quickly to minimize operational impact.
Schedule Requirements
- Weekend availability is required.
- Holiday work may be required.
- Some travel is required.
