Personalized Power Systems (PPS) is hiring an experienced Generator Technician to join our growing team in Coral Springs, FL. Since 1996, PPS has built a strong reputation for residential standby generator installation, maintenance, and repair throughout South Florida. With 5,000+ generator installations and decades of experience, we are looking for skilled technicians who take pride in their work and know how to keep customers powered when they need it most.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential standby generators
- Perform scheduled generator maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, fuel, and control-system issues
- Service and repair generators from leading manufacturers, including Generac, Kohler, and Briggs & Stratton
- Perform generator startups, testing, and operational checks
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical documentation
- Identify parts and materials needed to complete repairs
- Explain equipment issues and recommended repairs clearly to homeowners
- Provide professional, courteous service at every customer interaction
- Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records
- Respond to emergency and service calls as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable electrical and gas codes
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience servicing generators, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, or other mechanical equipment
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to diagnose problems independently and determine the appropriate repair
- Comfortable working with hand tools, electrical testing equipment, and mechanical components
- Generator experience is strongly preferred
- Electrical experience or certification is a plus
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, professional, and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a team
- Willingness to participate in emergency and storm-related service when needed
