Job Description
- Operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer to transport freight safely across multiple states.
- Pick up and deliver loads on time while following customer instructions and delivery schedules.
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including hours-of-service requirements and electronic logging.
- Secure cargo properly and ensure all shipping documents are complete and accurate.
- Maintain communication with the company dispatcher regarding load status, delays, and route updates.
- Plan safe and efficient travel routes while monitoring weather and road conditions.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and in safe operating condition.
- Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
