We are seeking a Test Technician with voltage and power experience to join a manufacturing comany in Milwaukee for a direct hire.
Pay: $30 -40/HR
1st or 2nd shift
Job Summary
Join our Menomonee Falls, WI team as a Test Technician 2. This role will perform standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and recording results. You will provide technical support to engineers and manufacturing on a variety of complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment.
This is a first shift position scheduled to work Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
What You Will Do
- Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches including running test set-ups of significant complexity
- Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and test procedures
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations
- Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials
- Lead a team to meet production deadlines and ensure quality of finished product (pass/fail rates)
- Diagnose cause of electrical, optical, mechanical malfunction, or failure of operational equipment
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance
- Modify a variety of complex electrical prototypes in accordance with engineering instructions
- Support Engineering while utilizing industry best practices including but not limited to creating test fixtures, test set-ups, and evaluations of product and/or fixtures
- Conduct developmental tests while ensuring safety of yourself and your team
Education & Experience Requirements
- 2+ years experience and associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience in the field in a related area
- Must have experience in working with high power and medium voltage equipment
- Must demonstrate strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
- Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practices
- Experienced in the use of various computer applications, specifically the Microsoft suite
- Must have strong mechanical skills
- Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus
- Experience with MRP is a plus
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires normal manual dexterity, speech and hearing. Specific vision abilities required by this job require frequent use of a computer monitor.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand for up to 9 hours a day
- Walking, lifting, bending, stooping and kneeling
