The Inside Sales Representative serves as a key point of contact for new and existing customers, managing the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through order placement. This role requires a blend of technical aptitude and customer service skill, supporting our metal manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Respond promptly to inbound customer inquiries via phone and email, qualifying leads and identifying customer needs
• Prepare and issue accurate customer quotes based on print specifications, material requirements, and production capabilities
• Follow up on open quotes and maintain an active pipeline of prospective business
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to assess feasibility of custom profiles and special requirements
• Process customer purchase orders and coordinate with operations to confirm lead times and delivery schedules
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts to drive repeat business and identify upsell opportunities
• Maintain accurate records in CRM software including contact activity, quote history, and order status
• Support outside sales efforts with account management, sample requests, and customer correspondence
• Assist in resolving order discrepancies, shipping issues, and customer concerns in a timely manner
• Stay current on material pricing, industry trends, and competitive landscape
Qualifications
• 2+ years of inside sales or customer service experience, preferably in manufacturing, metals, or industrial products
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or CRM systems preferred
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented manufacturing environment
