Agrological Solutions is looking for a Junior Agronomist to join our growing team serving producers throughout North-Central Montana.

This is an opportunity to work side-by-side with experienced professional agronomists, spend your growing season in the field, work directly with Montana farmers, and develop the technical and consulting skills needed for a long-term career in agronomy.

What You'll Do?

Your responsibilities will evolve as your knowledge and experience grow.

Field Scouting

• Scout commercial crop fields throughout the growing season.
• Identify weeds, insects and diseases.
• Monitor crop emergence, development and staging.
• Evaluate crop health, nutrient deficiencies and production issues.
• Monitor fields for potential herbicide, fungicide and insecticide needs.
• Assist with harvest and crop-performance evaluations.

Soil & Tissue Sampling

• Collect soil samples using established protocols.
• Collect plant tissue samples.
• Assist with interpreting laboratory results.
• Learn how soil and tissue data are incorporated into agronomic recommendations.

Agronomic Technology

• Record and manage field observations and sampling data.
• Work with GPS, GIS and agricultural mapping technology.
• Assist with variable-rate prescriptions and precision-agriculture projects.
• Learn how field data becomes actionable management information.

Agronomic Consulting

• Work alongside Professional Agronomists during client field visits.
• Assist with developing agronomic recommendations.
• Participate in grower meetings.
• Communicate observations and recommendations professionally.
• Develop an understanding of the economics behind crop-management decisions.
