JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Excavation Estimator/Project Manager to join our rapidly growing team. In this role, you will drive company expansion by preparing precise cost estimates, building strong vendor relationships, and helping run on-the-ground operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bidding & Estimating
- Analyze & Estimate: Review project plans, soil conditions, and site specs to build precise excavation estimates.
- Tech-Driven Proposals: Use supplied programming to prepare detailed cost and material proposals.
- Bid Packages: Compile comprehensive bids.
Project & Financial Management
- Project Management: Conduct site visits and act as Project Manager, collaborating closely with field teams.
- Budget Control: Monitor active project budgets to control costs and prevent overruns.
- Negotiation: Work with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
Team & Business Growth
- Win New Business: Collaborate with the team to pursue and acquire new contracts.
- Team Onboarding: Welcoming and onboarding new hires.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
Core Experience & Software
- Excavation Expertise: Proven background in construction estimating, specifically focused on excavation projects.
- Tech-Savvy: Highly proficient in modern construction estimating software.
- On-Site Insight: Hands-on job site experience that gives you practical, real-world understanding of excavation operations.
Management & Negotiation
- Project Lifecycle: Strong grasp of construction management, contracts, and full project execution—you love staying involved from start to finish!
- Deal Closing & Follow-Up: Excellent negotiation skills to lock in optimal pricing, paired with the drive to follow up regularly.
- Financial & Safety Know-How: Solid understanding of cost control, pricing strategies, and industry safety standards.
Bonus Points & Soft Skills
- Public Projects (Preferred): Knowledge of ODOT and ODNR bidding and processes is a major plus.
- Clear Communicator: Strong communication skills to smoothly coordinate with teams, clients, and vendors.
