Position Summary

Legacy Fleet & More is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for providing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and roadside service support for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles and equipment. Technicians will perform repairs both in the field and at customer locations while delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong diagnostic abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to keeping customer fleets operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair services on medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, air, and aftertreatment systems
• Conduct DOT inspections and safety inspections to ensure vehicle compliance
• Accurately document repairs, inspections, labor hours, and service recommendations
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to management and customers
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory in a professional manner
• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and industry best practices
• Respond to roadside service calls and emergency breakdown situations as assigned
• Work independently in the field while maintaining communication with dispatch and management
• Support overall fleet operations and customer service initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of diesel repair and maintenance experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience with medium- and heavy-duty truck systems
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to provide and maintain personal tools required to perform the job
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening requirements, including drug screening and DOT physical when applicable

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

This position operates in a mobile service and fleet maintenance environment and may involve exposure to diesel exhaust, dust, noise, oils, grease, chemicals, weather conditions, and other mechanical hazards commonly associated with commercial vehicle repair.

Technicians must be capable of performing the physical demands of the position, including lifting heavy components, operating service equipment, working in confined spaces, climbing, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, and crawling as necessary to diagnose and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
