About the Role
We are seeking an Entry-Level Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing and supplier coordination activities within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
This is a strong opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build hands-on experience in procurement, supply chain, supplier management, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support cost analysis and tracking for assigned materials and components.
- Assist with procurement activities including RFQs, bid coordination, supplier comparisons, and purchase order execution.
- Maintain purchasing and material data within ERP and inventory systems.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, logistics, finance, and global purchasing teams.
- Communicate with domestic and international suppliers regarding cost, quality, delivery, and capacity.
- Track supplier performance metrics.
- Review engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), and part lists.
- Participate in supplier meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with logistics, delivery, and invoice discrepancy resolution.
- Support project-related and global purchasing activities.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience or relevant exposure in purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, or automotive environments.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable working 100% onsite in Bluffton, Ohio.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with ERP or inventory systems.
- Familiarity with RFQs, purchase orders, supplier coordination, procurement, and cost analysis.
- Exposure to automotive or manufacturing environments.
