A Framer constructs the structural framework for buildings and other construction projects. This role involves reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling materials to create the skeleton of various structures. Framers work closely with other construction professionals to ensure safe and precise builds.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and building plans to determine framing requirements
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal, or other materials for structural frameworks
- Install floor joists, wall studs, rafters, and other framing components
- Ensure structures are level, square, and comply with safety standards
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate project timelines
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
- Follow safety regulations and guidelines on job sites
- Adapt to changes or issues onsite to maintain project progress
