We are seeking a full time certified and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support within our medical facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and the ability to work effectively in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The Certified Medical Assistant will work closely physicians, registered nurses, front office administrative staff, management team and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- This position will require you to be able to commute 1 or more days a week to one of our other offices such as Loganville, Duluth, Snellville, Dacula and/or Peachtree Corners? Note: some of these locations are once or twice a month, not every week. Mileage is paid at the federal mileage rate.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake, including obtaining vital signs, prescription drug documentation and medical histories.
- Provide direct patient care, ensuring comfort and safety during examinations and some outpatient procedures.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of patient information. Experience in ModMed (gGastro) a plus.
- Support medical administrative functions.
- Experience in Gastroenterology practice is a plus.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations within the medical facility.
- Attendance and punctuality are very important and monitored closely.
Skills Required
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge.
- Strong background in patient service with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform intake assessments and document vital signs accurately.
- Experience with EHR systems for effective patient management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
Background check, OIG check, and drug screening required!
