In-Process Inspector – First Shift
New Tech Metals is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented In-Process Inspector to join our manufacturing team on first shift. This position will perform in-process inspections of metal components, identify defects and non-conformances, and assist with ensuring parts meet customer and company quality requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, be mechanically inclined, and be willing to learn quality inspection methods, precision measuring equipment, and manufacturing processes. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop quality and manufacturing skills while building a path toward advancement within the organization.

Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–3:00 PM
Friday: 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform in-process inspections of metal components using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Utilize vision inspection systems and other quality inspection equipment as required.
- Verify that products meet customer specifications, work instructions, and ISO 9001 quality requirements.
- Inspect parts to identify defects, determine the nature of non-conformances, and assist in determining the appropriate method of correction.
- Learn and apply established quality inspection procedures and requirements.
- Assist with correcting part defects using appropriate hand tools and CNC equipment as trained.
- Operate small hand tools such as grinders, buffers, and dual-action (DA) sanders.
- Roll and flatten parts as required by production processes.
- Count, stack, palletize, and route parts to the next operation.
- Accurately complete production, inspection, and quality documentation.
- Read and follow work instructions and department routings.
- Work effectively with team members and other departments to maintain production flow.
- Work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including machine surfaces.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste reduction.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, fabrication, quality, or inspection experience preferred but not required.
- Ability and willingness to learn quality inspection procedures and manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of, or willingness to learn, precision measuring instruments.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify and document defects.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and department routings.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and repeatedly lift, bend, reach, and maneuver metal components.
- Ability to safely handle the physical demands of the position.
