ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an accomplished Controller to join a rapidly growing, multi-unit restaurant organization with approximately $125M in annual revenue and 2,500+ employees.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who understands the complexity of multi-unit restaurant operations and wants to play a key role in building the financial infrastructure of a growing organization.
The Controller will initially take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting functions supporting a significant restaurant portfolio, with the opportunity to expand responsibilities across multiple brands, business entities, and a growing real estate operation.
This is not a maintenance-focused accounting position. The successful candidate will have meaningful visibility with senior leadership and will contribute to financial reporting, operational analysis, systems implementation, budgeting, cash management, compliance, banking relationships, and long-term growth initiatives.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
• Lead the overall accounting function across multiple entities and business operations.
• Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, AP, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Own restaurant P&L reporting and provide meaningful financial analysis to operational and executive leadership.
• Develop management reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and financial performance analysis.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
• Establish and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and financial processes.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, debt administration, and related financial documentation.
• Coordinate annual financial statement audits, tax support, 401(k) audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee lease accounting, lease compliance, CAM requirements, and related real estate financial responsibilities.
• Partner with senior leadership on financial planning, operational performance, acquisitions, and organizational growth.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting personnel while creating a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Become a key financial owner of a Sage Intacct implementation and help establish the system as the organization's long-term ERP platform.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
REQUIRED:
• Current or recently held Controller-level experience.
• 3–5+ years of progressive Controller experience.
• Significant multi-unit restaurant or franchise accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of restaurant P&Ls, financial reporting, and operational metrics.
• Experience managing accounting teams and leading the accounting function.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree required.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, internal controls, and financial analysis.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, acquisition-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with executives and operational leaders.
PREFERRED:
• Sage Intacct implementation or administration experience.
