About the Role
Uptown Catering Company is looking for an organized, highly communicative Sales & Event Coordinator to drive corporate catering sales, manage client relationships, and coordinate logistics from initial inquiry to event execution.
You will act as the primary bridge between corporate clients, venue partners, and our internal culinary and logistics teams. This position requires strong inbound and outbound sales capability, attention to detail in writing proposals, and seamless event administration.
If you thrive in client service, love food and hospitality, and have a track record in corporate event planning, this is an excellent opportunity to grow with an established Houston enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Lead Conversion: Respond promptly to incoming client inquiries, conduct consultation phone calls, understand client budgets, and convert leads into booked catering events.
- BEO & Proposal Generation: Create detailed quotes, proposals, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) outlining custom menus, equipment rentals, staffing requirements, setup timelines, and pricing.
- Account & Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with corporate office managers, executive assistants, event planners, and local venues across Greater Houston.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Work hand-in-hand with the Executive Chef and Logistics Lead to ensure custom menu requests, dietary restrictions, delivery windows, and staffing levels are communicated accurately.
- On-Site Event Coordination: Periodically attend major galas, corporate luncheons, or off-site events to oversee setup, verify client satisfaction, and troubleshoot logistics.
- Administrative & Billing Oversight: Process deposits, final invoices, contract sign-offs, and client feedback in our CRM and catering software.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in catering sales, event planning, hotel sales, or corporate hospitality coordination.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with catering software (e.g., Caterease, Total Party Planner, Tripleseat, or similar) and general CRM/office productivity tools.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication. Professional demeanor when speaking with C-suite clients and venue stakeholders.
- Organization & Detail Focus: Exceptional multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage dozens of active quotes and event calendars without detail oversights.
- Bilingual Advantage: Fluency in Spanish and English is a major plus.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation Package: $55,000 – $70,000 base salary + commission / performance incentives on booked events.
- PTO & Benefits: Paid holidays, vacation package, and professional growth opportunities.
- Dynamic Work Environment: Energetic team with high upward mobility as the company expands.
