COMPANY OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a Service Technician to join our small team in the Chicagoland vicinity. The service team is responsible for in-house repairs of plastic welding equipment as well as on-site installations and phone support for our customers throughout North America. Although the Service Technician position is intended to primarily be shop based, occasional travel may be necessary. Willing to train the right candidate.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Troubleshoot and repair handheld welding and testing equipment
· Testing and assembling new equipment
· Serve as back-up for shipping and receiving
· Organize, clean, maintain workshop for optimal production flow
· Understand and use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide customer technical support via phone and/or email
· Process work orders, enter data into software, and email repair estimates to customers
· Complete supplier warranty claim paperwork
· Training customers on diagnosis and repair procedures
· Provide assistance with training seminars and customer specific training as needed
· Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Technical training or some college preferred
· Open-minded and willing to learn a unique set of equipment and tools
· Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
· Some experience in electronic components preferred
· Use of shop hand tools, power tools, and gauges
· Basic computer skills, good written and verbal communication skills
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, kneel, and stoop for up to 8 hours per day
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The Service Technician position is non-supervisory, requiring no managerial responsibilities.
