Metal Finishing TechnicianA growing manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented
Metal Finishing Technician to support specialized finishing processes on stainless steel components. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment, maintaining process parameters, performing inspections, and ensuring products meet stringent quality and surface finish requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience in metal finishing, plating, anodizing, passivation, polishing, surface treatment, or a similar manufacturing process environment.
Shift: 2nd Shift: 3pm-11:30pm, will train on first shift
Pay Rate: $23-$26/hr
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate finishing equipment by establishing process parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, cycle times, and chemical concentrations.
- Position and fixture components to ensure consistent processing results and optimal surface finishes.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality, consistency, and throughput.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections before, during, and after processing to verify compliance with specifications.
- Identify product defects, process deviations, or nonconforming materials and take appropriate corrective action.
- Maintain production equipment, tanks, power systems, and related process equipment through routine cleaning, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Monitor chemical solutions, filtration systems, temperatures, and other critical process variables to ensure process stability.
- Accurately document process settings, inspections, maintenance activities, and production records.
- Follow established safety procedures related to chemicals, electrical systems, PPE, and material handling.
- Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives as required.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, production, metal finishing, plating, anodizing, passivation, polishing, or related industrial environment.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions and production documentation.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members across departments.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work around production equipment and industrial machinery.
- Ability to distinguish colors and perform detailed visual inspections.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while following all safety requirements.
Work Environment- Manufacturing and production setting with exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, and material handling operations.
- Frequent interaction with process equipment and production machinery.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Occasional overtime, early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required based on production demands.
