FSCA is recruiting a Parent and Child Engagement Specialist to help support birth families during supervised visitations with their children and provide childcare while parents are on-site receiving substance use services. As a Parent and Child Engagement Specialist at Family Service & Children’s Aid, you will provide supportive services such as transportation and visitation supervision for clients of Child Welfare Programs (foster care and adoption). Assist birth families during visitations with providing basic parenting support along with completing visitations notes reporting on parenting skills demonstrated during the visit and children’s behaviors during the visit. This position can play an important role in assisting families in engaging when separation has disrupted the family dynamics. This position also supports the Behavioral Health’s Parenting Focused Substance Use Treatment Program’s Kid Care program by providing childcare services to the children of clients in Substance Use Treatment Programming. This position is responsible for facilitating a structured play/educational environment and will communicate with parents on a regular basis.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability pass a criminal background check and central registry clearance.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation along with proof of car insurance policy.
• Ability to lift 60 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children, childcare experience, or working with families
• Active First Aid training, or willingness to obtain
• Flexibility as schedule does require evening hours for visits, if necessary
